Don’t let the name fool you - this San Diego punk-pop band
has never relied on luck to get their music heard. Through hard work,
internet savvy, dedicated fans, and word of mouth, LUCKY 7 has generated
buzz in their native California and abroad. The growth of a huge national
and international fan base proves that LUCKY 7 is a band with mass appeal
that knows how to rock a crowd. Known for their high-energy live shows,
LUCKY 7 combines the heavy guitar riffs of rock, the melodic vocals of
pop, and the driving beats of punk. By meshing their musical influences -
The Who, The Ramones, Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, Guns and Roses, and
Elvis Costello - LUCKY 7 has formed a type of California punk that takes
the audiences out of the mosh-pit and onto the dance floor. This
independent band has achieved astounding Internet success. With the
release of their newest, self-titled album, LUCKY 7, the guys saw amazing
activity on the MP3.com website. Only four hours after uploading
“California Girl”, the song was #1 on the site’s Alternative and Punk
Charts, with “Come Monday,” at #3. 10,000 Downloads in one month proved
the band’s fans were anxiously awaiting new material. LUCKY 7’s history of
success on the MP3.com site is extensive; their first year on the site,
LUCKY 7’s songs earned 3 million downloads on MP3.com, with 1 million
downloads every year since. Several of LUCKY 7’s songs won recognition as
“Best Alternative Song” on MP3.com, Yahoo Internet Life named LUCKY 7 one
of the “Top 5 Internet Bands” in 2001, and CNN World Beat featured LUCKY 7
as a Top Internet Band in 1999.
