What do Sifl and Olly, Ringo Starr,
Tenacious D and Foo Fighters have in common? Liam Lynch of
course.
“Who is Liam Lynch?” you ask. Well he’s the mastermind behind the genius
that was Sifl and Olly. He’s also the director of the forthcoming
Tenacious D feature, as well as a Foo Fighters video. And now he’s got a
bonafide hit on his hands with “United States of Whatever.”
On Fake Songs, along with this hit, Lynch also includes other gems
including Rock and Roll Whore (feat. Jack Black), and homage songs such as
“Fake Bjork Song,” “Fake David Bowie Song,” “Fake Pixies Song,” and
“Fake Talking Heads Song.” Hilarious.
Fake Songs by Liam Lynch hit stores April 1st on S-Curve
records.
But for more, here’s the official info:
Fake Songs Liam Lynch’s
debut release on S-Curve Records, is coming soon. The first single, “United
States of Whatever" has leaked its way onto radio request charts and
is making some serious fans all over the US.
Liam Lynch fan, Ringo Starr makes guest appearances on
songs “Cuz You Do,” and “Try Me.” Also on Fake Songs,
long-time friend Jack Black sings “Rock and Roll Whore!”
Fake Songs will also feature a separate bonus DVD
containing the video for “United States of Whatever,” additional
video clips, and comedy highlights from brand new pieces of Liam's
body of work.
The DVD component of Fake Songs, which is nearly two hours
long and remarkably innovative, is as important a part of the project as
the companion full-length album. I think people are going to be really
excited by each of the discs."
A true Renaissance artist, Liam Lynch was among 40 musicians
chosen to study at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts — founded
by Paul McCartney. He was one of only five musicians hand picked
by Paul to work on a one-to-one basis.
