STIFLE
(StarTime International Fader Label Enterprises) is a new label
started by StarTime International (home to the French Kicks and
Brendan Benson, two of the most popular indie-bands on the scene
today), and The FADER Magazine, a bi-monthly tome on everything
that matters within music, fashion and lifestyle. The purpose of
the label is to cross-pollinate, blur, and disintegrate the
boundaries between various genres and sub-genres. With plans to
work with A list artists and producers in 2004 already in
motion, STIFLE’s reach will extend beyond the record store and
dance floor and into the forefront of independent dance music.

‘SOLID GOLD REMIXES’
Three exclusive remixes for a track and for a dance band that
has never released anything on vinyl. VHS or Beta is
comprised of four recovering Louisville, KY indie-rockers who
decided all they really wanted to do is get down. Their debut
album ‘Le Funk’ shocked the indie-world—no one believed a four
piece rock band could emulate the sound of French house music
with such aplomb, dexterity, innovation, and skill without
resorting to digital effects. ‘Solid Gold’ has so many layers
and so many components, yet it was written with both the dance floor
and the DJ in mind. BOB MOULD_ Bob Mould is most famous for
being the leader of possibly the most influential American
underground rock band of all time, Hüsker Dü. His career
since the 80’s has been all over the map. His last record shows
his interest and exploration with electronic and house music.
FREAKY CHAKRA_ Deep, dark, and funky, somehow Freaky Chakra has
always made futuristic beats while incorporating obvious
analogue elements.
